Jonas Quinn looked up into the star filled sky, knowing he was taking a risk being out here in the open. Ever since the Ori came, there was no more being open… no more hope. Just prostration and worship. He turned back to his second and exhaled.
“They’re never going to come.”
“Are you sure?”
“We’re not priority, Pat. We’re just here,” Jonas told him. “The SGC has bigger problems than their allies at the moment. We will take care of ourselves.”
“Jonas… Friend, this is not like you. Don’t let them break your will like this!”
Jonas looked older than his years as he touched the man’s shoulder. “I’m not broken yet. We should get back before things get worse.”

Jonas ran from the soldiers, hearing their shots and feeling the heat from them narrowly missing him. He smiled in excitement, knowing that he had struck a hard blow against the Ori today. Jonas hoped that Colonel, no General O’Neill would be proud of the fighter that he had become. He found the entrance to the tunnels, pulling the sod over the hole and waited to listen while the soldiers came after, their footsteps loud on the ground. After the footsteps faded, Jonas silently went down the ladder, hoping they had a good report.
“Jonas! You’ll never guess who’s here!” Ardra told him, her face filled with excitement.
“Well don’t keep me waiting,” Jonas told her. “Who’s here?” he asked, trying to coax her into revealing it. His hand drifted towards his weapon, not sure what she was pulling him into.
Ardra just smiled and pulled him along. “This is one of the ones from Earth. They’ve come, Jonas. They did not abandon us.Jonas Quinn, meet Colonel Cameron Mitchell.”
Jonas looked at the man, narrowing his eyes at him, seeing him dressed in much the same clothing they were. “I don’t remember you, I’m afraid.”
“You wouldn’t know me, Quinn. I joined the SGC after you left. I’m the new leader of SG-1.”
“Oh! Um, hello. Where’s Sam? Teal’c?” he asked, looking around.
“I’m afraid you’re stuck with just me. Sam’s not even in this galaxy but Teal’c is going to return soon. I’m here to do some fact finding and see the strength of the Ori Presence here.”
Jonas frowned and nodded his head. “So, no help then?”
“I wouldn’t go that far…”
“You’ve just admitted it, Colonel. I thank you for coming to see how my people are dying, however, if you are not here to help us, then you must leave.”
Cam blinked in surprise.
“Jonas!” Ardra scolded.
“What do you wish me to say?” Jonas asked. “They have no use for us. Not for this. My faith in them was misplaced,” he told them then turned, leaving the room.

“I know I’m the last one you want to see… but we are going to help you,” Colonel Mitchell said after finding Jonas.
“I’m sorry for my outburst. I don’t even know you.”
“No, you’re right… We were fairly shitty allies. But I’m also here to do a few things and give you some stuff that will help you fight.”
Jonas looked up at him. “We’ll take whatever we can get.”
Cam grinned and sat down next to him. “That sounds like the Jonas Quinn I’ve heard so much about.”
Jonas glanced at him and offered a hand. “Jonas Quinn.”
“Cameron Mitchell. I’ve heard a lot.”
“I’m glad to finally meet you, Cameron.”
“Call me Cam.”
