All right, it's pretty obvious from the countdown that something's coming. August 19th is when it finishes, and this is one of the first times we've had adequate time to prepare. If the soirée was any indication, things can only go from bad to worse, though that could've been a lot worse. I'm just saying ... we should probably be ready for the ( Read more... )

I am ready to lend a hand.

... I admit, I'm not sure what we should be prepared for.

If you are in need of supplies I can provide them.

Do you think you can gather things to ... help fortify some structures? And maybe move a good chunk of camp's population into one place, theoretically underground. And of course, food. I'd say weapons, but that doesn't seem to be the style of who we're dealing with.

The first question that springs to mind is this: Are we the target of whatever is at the end of the countdown, or are we merely in the crossfire of whatever is going to occur?

My best guess? A little of both, but mostly, it'd count down even if we weren't here. Does that answer the question?

Yes, I believe I understand you. This is happening in this location and our presence here is nonessential to its continuation. If that is the case, then extricating people from the situation would be ideal, as you have mentioned.

It may be impossible to succeed without casualties, but as I mentioned: we have some of the most impossibly brilliant minds in camp right now. I think we can do something.

All right. Who here is a fighter?

I'm good with guns, hand to hand, some stuff with knives. But compared to most people here, you can probably count me out.

That depends what they bring with them, right?

And if what's coming requires a front line. My guess? If someone can provide some shields over where everyone is kept, that might be the best idea we can get right now. But ... I mostly know this stuff from movies, once it gets into that. I can't say how much I can plan for it in real time.

If we're going to ground, we're going to need to secure a portion of the underground labs and caverns that can hold all of our noncombatants.

We'll probably want to literally secure them. I'm not as familiar with that area of camp. Is anyone else?

Not me personally. Sounds like a question for the Network.

Hopefully, someone'll come around who seems to know the answer. Or maybe we can pose it separately.

Have you anything new to report since our last discussion? Specifics, not generalities.

There is a group from space. Erin is the captain. Not sure on the second in command. Noir and her twin are the pilots. I think Charlotte is ... the tactician, but that's a hunch. Jalen is new. He's the doctor. Noir caused the virus that attacked camp for months, but Erin didn't know. Erin has been working for a long time, and this is possibly the end of the road for her. However, it's clear that Noir works on her own.

What's coming is definitely bad. I do have confirmation on that. If you check your email, you'll find the same.

Have you sent me something, or are you referring to the sequence of vague assertions that have been mass mailed to us all?

I think "shit > fan" isn't very vague, do you?
