The machines grind and groan loudly, occasionally snapping at a stray hand as it reaches over to put in or take out clothes. The better question is - when are they not angry? Although they're definitely moodier than usual this evening.

I stopped using those things ages ago. It's easier to just wash them by hand and then try your luck with the dryers.
