You know, the longer I live here, the more I get pretty certain that yearly holidays might not be such a good idea after all. Sure, it's nice to see home again, but when you've been here as long as I have - you're not allowed to ask how long, by the way, I just decided that's against the rules - the best way to deal with homesickness is to kind of only think about it out the corner of your eye. It was a lot easier to be in denial about it when it wasn't in your face every year, huh. So you'll have to excuse me if I'm a bit out of touch, is mostly what I'm saying, and it's about time I got to know a bunch of you newer kids.
If you don't know already, the name's Peony Malkuth; nominally, I run the hotel, but it pretty much runs itself most of the time. I'd ask what your resolutions were as an icebreaker, but that's one of those questions that comes up every year, right? Maybe it's getting a little dull. How about resolutions you really wish someone else kept? Bonus points for anything that makes the other guy speechless!
