"The prince dropped to the ground in a bow. "I am hear to proclaim, my dear Queen of the kingdom, that I fear nothing. Let you and your lord throw their worst at me--for I shall be the stronger for it."
"At these words, the prince thought he could hear a scurrying noise--but not one of a rat, for it echoed oddly. The feeling that he was being watched increased, and he applied himself to holding back a frown. The queen laughed."
"If that may be so, dear prince, then let us see what you make of my gardens. Surely a brave knight such as yourself could easily navigate such a thing as a lady's proud collection of blossoms in midday without a moment's distress."
"And if you do manage such a thing, why, I will take you to my lord."
"The prince raised his eyes to the queens own--and froze. For there, he saw..."
[you notice, if you look up, that there's some rose bushes in the distance. should you choose to take a closer look, a rather elegant tea set has been set on one side of it, circled by small silk cushions, and should you look more closely, a small wardrobe's been hidden behind a wall screen. it is filled with lace and silk clothing.
...of course, you might not be up to looking around at the scenery, since there are suddenly spiders everywhere. glittery purple ones.]
