[There’s a lovely smell in the air around the forest today. Like fresh baked bread, just out of the oven. If you follow your nose you will find a lot of strange looking plants growing big, thorny yellow balls. There are a couple of boys picking them. They’re also eating them, and seem to be fairly happy about it]

They are called muffin-balls. A fine treat, especially when fried. Best to pick the horns off first as they are sour.

To some of the sweet things here, I would say they cannot compare but I find them sweet enough.
