In the messhall

Are you sure it's edible?

I suppose we could feed it to passerbys and find out.

I guess it should be safe as long as we follow the recipe...

((If you're passing by the mess hall, you may notice two boys attempting to cook one of camp's famed toucans. You should stop by and try some. Is the toucan really edible? who knows! Blue is Ike, black is ( Read more... )

[flipping my way through a cookbook]

Well, they seem to have nothing on toucans but...I suppose chicken is the closest thing.

Probably. They're both birds, after all.

Chicken burgers? What are those?

They're a bit stringy, but edible enough, I should think. Though camp does have a tendency to interfere.

You've eaten them before?

Are toucans a protected species in camp?

During the period when the mess hall was destroyed, certainly.

We did have a difficult time capturing them. They seemed to have a kind of pack mentality.

Since there were so many of them, it seemed alright to take a few down.

Probably, but the food they serve on Tuesday seems to be an exception. Just thinking about the soup makes me ill...

Tuesdays? Why?

I'm usually not picky about my food, but Tuesdays soup makes even me nauseous...

I doubt it could be any worse than what's in the soup today.

You never know. Toucan might be one of the secret ingredients.

I highly doubt it. But we will find out once it's cooked.
