[out in the main cabin area, there is a Manikin! He's got a crate, with a tablecloth on top, and a number of things laid out on the tablecloth: a fork, a kind of battered-looking TV remote (batteries removed), an iron-prick spur, a 1 GB key drive, a toy soldier (chipped), a flashlight, a hurricane lantern ( Read more... )

That's a bit brief.

It's a broad topic. Are you compensating for this information?

That depends. Do you mean financial compensation, or information for information?

Financial is always preferred, but difficult to organize here in camp.

Well, it's information I can probably find out from other sources, so how does 10 macca sound?

I don't know the exchange rate.

Isn't that the problem with money in a nutshell... it's only of value so long as the local organizing factions consider it to have value... otherwise it's only worth the paper or metal it's made out of.

Macca is the underworld's currency, though, if that helps.

Indeed. All the same, the system works. . . . Although you appear to have attracted some idiots here.

Does it have any special properties? I ask because some currency found here does.

Ahhh, well, I wouldn't have said that myself, but... I don't think most of them really understood what I was asking...

Special properties? I don't think it's much different from standard human currencies... oh, except that you can collect it when dead as well. A lot of human souls have been building up macca stashes since the yen has no value now.

One boy just offered me everything he owns. That's my kind of idiot. I could become fond.

Umu? . . . All right, it's a deal. Ask and I'll answer.

...I wish he'd offered that to me.

[digging out a bronze disc] Here you are. Okay, so ... humans in your world...

Perhaps we can work something out.

[inspecting it with interest] Are greedy creatures, none moreso than I am.

That'd be nice.

I don't think greed by itself is a bad thing. So, human value towards objects, what kind of things and why?

Mostly clothing, it seems. An interesting robot.

There's a market for nearly anything. If someone in the world has it, someone else wants more of it; everyone wants to be the best. If someone gets in their way, they'll pay handsomely to have them killed.

A robot? Electronic?

It sounds like 'junk' as a concept doesn't exist in your world, if you put it like that.
