I can make it was it can shoot out so it's long range, I can increase the voltage, get rid of some unnecessary parts, and make it consume energy more efficiently.

[Grins and proceeds to do just that in about ten minutes time.]

Can you increase the efficiency, power, output, and not change the size?

I meant to say decrease size, but I can keep something the same size if needed!

Smaller would be worse than bigger! It wouldn't fit your hand anymore!

But, if you can keep them the same size, I'd like to see what you can do with this!

*presents a drill that fits over a person's fist for fighting with, made out of special elemental minerals*

Ah, I see, I see. A weapon. I can see the need for keeping the same size.

[Pulls out a number of tools from under the stand.]

No problem! Tune up special!

[Essentially takes it apart and rebuilds in around fifteen minutes, several parts still laying on the stand. Still the same size if a bit lighter, but she kept her word. Unfortunately, the drill might be a bit too efficient and powerful and break things up more than wanted.]
