ETA Oop, scheduling conflict with the crossdresser's ball. I will set myself up a Google calender reminder for late summer, and maybe ask about this again in the fall to do it as homecoming 8|b
========
Hi y'all! So, I know it is like, super... super early for this, but I have a high-school camper now and I wanted to ask before I go and do something like forget entirely: How do people feel about having a Camp Prom? Have we had one before?
AFAIK, most proms are in early May or so, so what I was thinking of doing is this:
1. April sometime, set up a poll where people can ICly nominate campers and/or counselors for prom royalty; probably I'd leave it open for only a few days.
2.Post a list of all royalty nominations as a poll; characters can then use the next few weeks to ICly beg, bargain, bribe or otherwise friends and acquaintances (or total strangers) into voting for them, just like with a real life prom! Ham it up, run around trying to be visible and super popular. Or maybe ignore it entire and try and get anti-votes, depending on what your view of prom is. Etc etc.
3. Early may, hold a dance! This part wouldn't need much "event" coordinating, I wouldn't think -- it would be like the winter ball or other party-posts: mingling and dancing and such. If wanted, I could set up a randomly-generated dance card thing, orrrrr idk, run a boss fight and let people fight Carrie or man-eating Hell hounds or something, if people were interested? Would also crown the royalty at this point.
Thoughts? Questions? Scheduling conflicts? No-that-idea-is-stupid?
