OKAY in the beginning he did not really love her. Like, he knew who she was and who she would become to his future self. And a lot of his AWKWAAAAAAAARD comes from that. In the beginning, anyway. But then he feels drawn to her. Like. He shouldn't, he thinks, and he doesn't want to get close to her because that's cruel and lolol guilt complex!!11 BUT AS THE SERIES PROGRESSES and Yuuto actually says this, he wants to protect her. I think he understands why his future self loves her so much.

Yuuto is someone who is a teenager and he's just sorting himself out, and then gets hit with this IN THE FUTURE YOU WILL _______ AND _________ AND _______. And it's a lot and he's not terribly pleased with that, even though he understands what he has to do and why. UH SO he doesn't have a defined sexuality at all in the series, to me. IN THE FUTURE he's with Airi, but as Yuuto Yuuto? He doesn't know. But he does know that he wants to protect her, and feels drawn to her and she made him smile and laugh (which... he only does during the ice cream cup scene and when he roofies Ryoutarou i don't even know o yuuto) SO. There is something there. Clearly. But you know, the whole forgetting thing is hard on everyone.

AIRI AND YUUTO IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS )': I love how he's like. UH. WELL. . . . UH SO. and she's like |D and he's like /_\ in his tsuntsun way. I admit that Sakurai-san/Airi is my OTP. Which is strange since he like. never shows up. Except to STAND AND WALK AWAY o sakurai-san u so manly.

It's also kind of terrible when you're a teenager to know that you know this girl in the BIBLICAL SENSE and have made babies with her. In that sense, it's totally understandable that Yuuto gets his spaz on around Airi, lol.

Sakurai-san/Airi is THE ship of the series. There wouldn't be a series without them, because the Imagin would've won. It's epic and amazing, and I really wish we'd gotten to see more of Airi with Sakurai-san, because she seemed like she had tremendous balls.
