WELL HE HAD A SPECTACULAR USERNAME

For a FF protagonist, Zidane fails spectacularly at rivalry:

- Amarant tries REALLY REALLY HARD to be Zidane's ETERNAL RIVAL!!!1 Zidane mostly doesn't notice or care.

- Freya has to egg Zidane on to stop moping about Dagger and to get back on track about that whole Kuja thing.

- ... End of the game has Zidane trying to save Kuja.

Tot versus Omi. :| They get paired against each other because they are the short young kiddie members of their opposing rival teams. But she hates all of Weiß equally.

Gohan mooost people remember his fight against Cell, so. HE DOESN'T REALLY HAVE A NEMESIS.

Capell is sort of Ed's rival for Sigmund's love and affection attention, but Capell does not really consider himself in the running for that and then later he and Ed are bff instead. I tend to think the Dreadknight also believed he was Sigmund's Rival!!1 because he wanted Empress Svala's attention really badly and she might have been both of their...foster...mother...thing. Maybe idk.

Kittan Kamina is his rival in awesome, but they don't really. Have the opportunity to fight much, except for in that one terrible episode.

Roxas: Doesn't have one. His closest thing is Sora. Or Riku. Or DiZ. So no.

Joshua: Minamimoto kind of forces himself on Joshua as one, and then Joshua goes lol you idiot.

Lockon: DIE ALI AL-SAACHEZ

Blue: Keithhhhhhhhhhh. He takes everything Blue loves. Blue doesn't really accomplish much fighting him, except getting shot in the face and blowing up the Deathstar.

Max: She has Liedecker in S1, but she doesn't really FIGHT him. And then there's Ames White in S2. Who she does fight. A lot. He's a ~naturally~ created genetic weirdo who wants her dead because she's the savior to humanity. Only he doesn't completely realize that yet.

Jason: He has Batman. He has beat Batman in a fight.

Yousuke: ... He doesn't have one, really.

Oh yeah.

What I didn't mention is that Ali went home when Allelujah accidentally knocked him through the barrier. Allelujah didn't notice.

Emil has Richter. Who he doesn't really see as an enemy or anything, and has sort of an adorable puppycrush on, but they end up fighting against each other a lot. There are some interesting parallels between Emil's sort of heroworship of Richter and Richter's relationship with [SPOILER], which makes things even more complicated.
