On Monday I had to put down one of my Great Danes. She was at least 10(rescued her from a shelter 5 yrs ago) and had a stroke in each of her hind legs. I am still shocked. It happened so fast. I've been through a single stroke with another dane who was 4 when he had it. It was a hard road for him, and me, and lots of drugs. He lived another two years and finally had to be put down due to osteosarcoma in his front leg. I just couldn't do that to my sweet baby Hope. We fought so hard to get her, 3 weeks of going to the shelter everyday to play with her and stopping in to bug the shelter director. She finally relented, we signed a release of liability and brought her home where she was the sweetest dog I've ever had. My other dog Lily is having a hard time adjusting too. Lily is 11, I was worried she would die and Hope would be lost without her, not the other way around.
On top of that I've had migraines most of this week as well as last week. Damn hormones. We had to stop last week and get my Imitrex refilled because I forgot to pack it. Haven't needed it for several months.
So, that is my week and it's not over yet. Tomorrow is ten hours of volunteer work, on my legs the whole time. Glad my other volunteer job is online working for a dane rescue.
How was your week?
