[Mod Post] Sign-Ups & Other important info

Aug 22, 2010 14:54

Hello again every one :D First off, let me just say that the response we got to the previous post was just AWESOME. We are all so very excited - YAY \o/

Sign-Ups

Sign-ups will be on September 1st - just a little over a week from now. The time of the actual post hasn't been determined as of yet, but we'll try to make it fair for everyone (as much as we can, anyways). On Tuesday, we'll be posting a preview of the information you'll be asked to fill out. That way you can get your ideas all together and not be too rushed.

Sign-ups are going to be a little different this year, mainly because we'll be using a form from GoogleDocs to get all the information in. The reason we're doing this is to help speed up sorting and to help save us time in getting all our spreadsheets taken care of. This also means that once you submit your info, that's it, no editing. Which is another reason why we'll be giving you over a week to work on getting your ideas together.

We're also opening up more slots and will be allowing up to 100 participants. It will still be on a first come, first serve basis. If for whatever reason you aren't going to be available to sign-up when the post goes up, we're allowing proxies to sign-up for you. Just make sure to choose someone that you can trust to get your info in at the right time.

Story Posting

Another change this year is about where the stories will be posted. Due to LJ's limited post length, whenever we get a story that is over 10k or so, it has to be broken up into several posts. To avoid us and the authors having to do additional work to get the stories ready for posting, we'll be posting the stories over on Dreamwidth.

Each story will have a post here at LJ with a link to the post on Dreamwidth. Commenting will be allowed on both the LJ post and the Dreamwidth post. And the story posts on Dreamwidth will have a link back to the LJ post to allow you to comment.

Story Length & General Rules

The rules are the same as last years, if you don't know what they are or you've forgotten, you can check out the comm profile here

We've also upped the minimum required word count for stories. Last year it was a 1,000 words and this year it will be 2,000 words. This is just to help contribute more awesome fic to Merlin fandom.

That's all for now. If you have any questions, just ask here in the comments. And remember to keep an eye out for the post on Tuesday.
