The injuries which he suffered while fighting Helio’s men for her amusement were not too severe. They would not leave a scar. But while he ducked another swing from his opponent, Gwaine wondered about the scars which fate had left on Morgana’s soul. It was a cruel fate indeed that had given her, the king’s ward, magical powers. How scared this once beautiful young woman must have been when she discovered her abilities. To know that the king’s hate of magic hung over her like the Sword of Damocles… It might not right her actions, but it made them at least a little understandable.
