Merlin entered the cave and looked around. He knew dragons liked shiny things but the piles of gold, silver, and various other metals surprised him.
“Merlin, you look surprised at my hoard.” Kilgharrah smiled at the warlock's surprised face.
“You have definitely plundered the realm. How have you managed to acquire so much in such a short time?” Merlin picked up a silver chalice. “I see you've been to Mercia.”
The old dragon laughed. “Bayard’s court is quite tasty. Although, the knights were a bit gamey.”
Merlin chuckled. “As opposed to?”
“The knights of North Wales are very plump and tender.” The dragon winked at him.
Merlin sighed. “Just don't get caught.”
“I'll never let that happen again.” Kilgharrah stamped his foot. “Why are you here?”
“I just dropped by to see the new cave.” Merlin put the chalice down. “Listen for my call. I have a feeling something is about to happen.”
“In Camelot? As long as magick is banned, there will always be something about to happen.”
Merlin nodded and waved as he left the way he came.
