“Sire, Gwaine has been captured by Morgana!” Percival said as he and the rest of the knights who’d ridden out with him entered the hall.
Arthur stood. “Captured? How?”
“We, uh, came upon her bathing in the Darkling Woods. And you know Gwaine-he just had to get a closer look.”
“There were some chuckles around the hall, but Arthur silenced them with a hand. “Did you try to get him back?”
“Unfortunately, she was so angry that she began firing spells at us. We had no choice but to run.”
“Arthur, we have to rescue him. We’ll negotiate with her for his release,” said Merlin.
“We can’t negotiate with Morgana. She doesn’t listen to reason.”
“That’s true,” Merlin admitted.
“We’ll have to resort to trickery,” Arthur said. “I’ll gather my privy council to discuss options. But we’re not going to leave him with her. That is not an option.”
