Merlin answered the door. It was Elyan and Gwen. He invited them inside and insisted that they have a seat. He offered them drinks, got them, then had a seat for a moment.
“Do you have any idea of the big evil that’s coming?” Gwen asked.
“No clue,” said Merlin. They glanced at Kilgharrah, who shook his head.
“I hope it’s not Morgana.” Elyan shuddered. “That woman is pure poison.”
“Definitely,” Gwen agreed. “I don’t even want to know if she was reincarnated like the rest of us.”
“Same,” said Merlin. “’Poison’ is a good way to describe her.” He couldn’t help the twinge of guilt he still felt for poisoning her . . . and the bargain he’d made with Morgause. If it hadn’t been for that, maybe Morgana would have stayed the caring person she’d been before the incident.
Before he could ponder on it anymore, the doorbell rang again.
