“Do you remember that night we danced under the stars, sharing pleasure and pain, just the two of us?” Aredian’s palm cupping Uther’s cheek, he murmured, “I’ve learned a lot since then.”
Uther hummed, leaning into the warmth. “Mostly pain, I see.”
“Ah, it pays better than pleasure. Although I could make an exception for you.” Aredian pulled Uther close.
“You always knew how to dangle ecstasy before me.”
“Is it working?” Aredian smiled.
“Uncovering sorcery must come before all else.”
“Of course.”
“I am in your capable hands, Aredian. But tomorrow, your work begins.”
“And tonight?”
“Tonight, we dance.”
