Morgana had the television tuned to the news for Merlin and sat in front of it folding the laundry. Merlin was in the kitchen washing dishes when a new story flashed on the screen.
“. . . Flight 537 from London to Glasgow went down today, killing all onboard.”
“Merlin! It’s another plane crash!” Morgana said.
Merlin came around the divide from the kitchen into the living room. “Oh no, not another one.”
They listened to the details then Morgana turned off the telly. “What is that, three so far this month?”
“I think so. One in the States, one in France, and now one here. This is awful.”
“It makes me feel so helpless. And scared.”
Merlin walked around the sofa and knelt on the sofa in front of Morgana. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. “Me too, love.”
They held each other like that for a few minutes until they felt better.
