I found out about this via the
akzseinga Star Trek comm and I thought it to be a fantastic idea:
where_no_woman is hosting a really cool, really big fandom fest celebrating
the women that fandom hates. Basically your mission is to take one female character (or more) who you feel fandom has a tendency to hate on and comment horribly about, and promote her amazing awesomeness! One post a day for a week.
All fandoms big or small, of all different mediums and genres, are welcome to participate, though there is a limit on how many people can represent one particular character. There's a list posted after the rules on who has already been claimed and by how many. While fanfiction seems to be the default, it looks to be open to fan art, graphics, poetry, picspams, etc. as long as you're celebrating the character.
The party starts Friday, September 9, and runs through Friday, September 16th.
