Hello!

YOU ARE THE BEST~! Thank you for your participation and enjoyment of some of the same fandoms. I am sure to love whatever you create for me!

In an attempt to make things easier on you (as well as less intimidating) I have provided jump links to each of the different sections (cause my lj-cuts weren't working :( ). Don't feel obligated to do any of the prompts I suggest! They are just starting points (or ideas if you feel so inspired!). Please feel free to comment/send carrier pigeon/communicate via smoke signals. You know whatever works for you.

Something worth noting! These fandoms are in no order. Please do not think that just because something was number 1 means I really, really, desperately want it. I love all my fandoms (mostly) equally.

01. General Stuff | 02. Persuasion - Jane Austen | 03. Elementary
04. Sleepy Hollow | 05. My Girl | 06. Dating Agency: Cyrano
07. Parasol Protectorate - Gail Carriger

01. General Stuff
-I like happy stories. Not that you can't include some angst but I really would prefer to avoid deaths (canon or not). And you know bawling my eyes out.

-I enjoy romance, especially the slow build up smoldering romances that end up being really satisfying when they finally admit their feelings/kiss/whatever. I really like real relationships where you feel like the romance is built on a really strong understanding of the other/friendship. I'm also a sucker for chaste, Victorian romance style things (think this scene from Grey's Anatomy) even if the series is not a Victorian set one. I'm also down for fluff but fluff with plot please <3

-Show don't tell (I know, I know, the classic one)

-Friendship stories are great as well!

-I'm a sucker for a well balanced ensemble fic.

-I'm not super into fem!slash or slash pairings though if that's your thing I would prefer fem!slash over slash.

-Please no porn fic. Not that you can't show some skin and let things get ahem "hot and heavy," but I would rather have more going on in the fic than just boning. Please no super kinky sex stuff.

-I detest pregnancy fic with the fiery passion of a 1000 suns. Please no fics about people finding out they are pregnant, being pregnant, having a baby (the birthing process or otherwise) etc. Even if it's canon.

-I absolutely adore missing moments fic or scenes from the media from another character's perspective. Prequels and sequels are fine by me as are "5 times x thought this of y and 1 time they didn't" format(s). Holiday themed fic is a-ok too but don't feel obligated to do it just because of the time of year!

02. Persuasion - Jane Austen

the what: Persuasion is Jane Austen's last published full length novel and is the story of Anne Elliot. Several years prior to the start of the story, Anne Elliot was engaged to Fredrick Wentworth but was persuaded (get it) by her family/mentors to break it off as he was not rich enough nor accomplished enough for them. Now Fredrick is a Naval Captain and rich and has tumbled back into Anne's life. Have their feelings for each other changed? Will Anne be persuaded against him once again?

the why: To be fair, when I selected Persuasion, I wasn't exactly thinking of the book (I actually couldn't finish it) but in fact the made for PBS movie that came out back in in 2010 (you can probably watch it online or find the DVD at the library)! But I digress...

I really love this property because I really like that Anne and Fredrick never forget about each other! They always have each other in their hearts and their love endures. I also really like the slow rekindling of their feelings for each other over the course of the book/movie. Fredrick's steadfastness and willingness to admit that he still cares for Anne after all this time and all the crap she put him through is something I find romantic. I also adore Anne as the heroine, partially because I identify with her but also because she learns and grows and regrets and to be honest I love that she is "weak" and open to persuasion. I love that she feels so real when compared to other Austen heroines who are constantly strong. I also love that she was willing to give up so many things as the daughter of a baronet to be with Fredrick when he was just some sailor. As awful as this sounds, I like that they suffered so much and in the end get so much happiness.

the prompts:
-I would love to see some pre-Persuasion Anne & Fredrick! How did they meet? How did they court (especially since her family would never have let her do it like "officially" - the intrigue!)? I feel like there would be a lot of secret letters and chaste exchanges in polite company here.

-I would also be interested in some post-Persuasion fic! After they admit their feelings for each other, then what (like instantly after this moment what)? What was their wedding like?

-The intervening years fic! Did they write letters they never sent? Did Fredrick cry on the navy ship like 3 years later about it because it still hurts like it was yesterday? How did Anne politely turn away suitors? Did Fredrick think of her that one time he almost died or something? A story featuring both character perspectives would be great here.

-A modern day AU taking place at any point in the timeline! You don't have to super stick to the plot in this case (like in terms of careers and the fact that Mr. Elliot probs wouldn't be Anne's cousin). How did modern day Anne & Fredrick meet (at a coffee shop? he always came into her cute little bakery? her flower shop? craigslist roommates? online dating?)? Maybe like a quick re-telling of the plot (yes this is asking a lot) with big time skips?

-An AU in which Anne says "whatever family" and marries Fredrick anyway! What would that be like? How would she be taken out of society? What happened to them and their relationship? How did she deal with all the wars and junk? How did Fredrick deal with it?

-Or you know, ignore all those things and do whatever you want!

03. Elementary

the what: Elementary is a modern day retelling of Sherlock Holmes which casts Watson as a woman! Watson begins the show as Sherlock's sober companion (because Sherlock is a former junkie) but ultimately she becomes a consulting detective with him. They solve crimes!

the why: Elementary is a show I didn't think that I would like at first, because as with most people of the internet I was pretty enamored with BBC Sherlock, but I'm really glad that I did. I absolutely adore the friendship between Sherlock and Watson and I really value a show that wants to put emphasis on the friendship and didn't just go for the easy, "they fall in love" thing. I also really like this version of Sherlock (especially compared to BBC Sherlock) because he seems like a real person? He has flaws. He is really good at what he does but sometimes he is wrong and he is mostly ok with that. He has tattoos! And I also love that Watson 1) cares about Sherlock as a person and not a love interest and 2) doesn't take any of his ridiculous crap and follow him around being all "you're so coooool" (no offense to BBC Watson). I really love when they show that they care about each other (like Watson in ep 1x20 and Sherlock in 2x02) in that subtle, awkward way that defines their friendship. I also really adore the other characters in the series (Gregson, Bell, Alfredo, Hudson, Mycoft, etc.) so feel free to include them if you want!

the prompts:
While I am totally pro BROtp fic, I would not be remiss to some romance fic of Sherlock/Joan if you feel so inclined.

-Sherlock gets sick! Joan gets sick! EVERYONE NEEDS TAKING CARE OF

-Sherlock gives Watson a tattoo (this could actually have quite the emotional, personal moment in it)!

-It's Sherlock & Watson's friendship-a-versary!

-A random, non-case themed night in the brownstone (I feel impromptu dance parties and cooking mishaps are in order).

-Or do whatever you want!

04. Sleepy Hollow

the what: Sleepy Hollow is about Icahbod Crane, a Brit fighting for the Americans in the Revolutionary War. who wakes up 200 years in the future (his lost between the worlds & witch wife put a spell on him) to work with badass cop Abbie Mills to stop the Headless Horseman from summoning the other 3 horsemen to start the end of the world!

the why: This is one of those shows that sneaks up on you with how much you like it. I really enjoy the relationship between Abbie and Crane. I like how strong, independent and competent Abbie is. She may not totally be on board everything all the time but at least she is open and willing to deal with a situation that way a level headed human being would. Crane (aside from being a handsome, handsome gentleman) is an interesting "dude out of time." I mean not only is he a Brit who fought on the American side in the Revolutionary War, but he has been on board with this whole supernatural thing since the beginning. It pleases me that he hasn't forgotten his wife and that saving her is something he wants to do but it's not his entire main focus.

the prompts:
I'm not looking for anything too specific here so these prompts won't be as good as some of my other ones. I'd be down for some BROtp fic but I would not be against some Abbie/Icahbod shipping-ness should you feel so inclined.

If you choose to do this fandom, please, please include some ridiculous "Icahbod interacting with modern technology in an unusual way" like the beginning of episode 1x04.

-Crane can't afford his hotel room anymore (which I mean come on means that the police dept can't lbr) so he has to move in with Abbie!

-Crane and Abbie celebrate some obscure holiday that no one has celebrated since like 150 years (or whatever) ago!

-Crane and Abbie go back in time? What if the premise had been reversed and Abbie went back in time to stop the horsemen?

-Some Crane or Abbie (or both) backstory?

-Or do whatever you want!

05. My Girl

the what: My Girl is a Korean drama (which you can totally watch for free right here!) that centers around rich boy Seol Gong-chan and poorish, crafty, clever girl Joo Yoo-rin. Gong-chan's grandfather is ailing and all he wants is to see his neice (Gong-chan's cousin) prior to his (apparently) immeniment death. Gong-chan, unable to locate her, hires Yoo-rin to pretend to be the cousin. Hilarity and misunderstandings abound!

the why: My Girl is probably my favorite k-drama because it has that perfect blend of humorous and sweet moments and it's set during my favorite (and most appropriate for yuletide) - Christmas! I really love how their romance builds (in true k-drama fashion) very, very slowly. I also really like that Yoo-rin isn't on board with the romance right off the bat and takes her time to figure out her feelings and the implications of them. Similarly to Persuasion, their romance has a big time skip which is another thing that I adore about their relationship - it endures over time! The side characters are also pretty great in this and they defintely provide the humor.

the prompts:
-Gong-chan buys snow globes every time it snows for 2 years when they are apart. What is his thought process like when he buys them? How does he feel when he finally gives them to her? What's a time he buys her a snow globe when they are together like?

-AU in which Gong-chan and Yoo-rin meet through an online dating service. Tell me about their first date!

-Take a sentimental scene from the series and show the character's perspective on it (providing the location of your inspriation scene would be great so I can watch the scene with your story in mind!)

-Gong-chan and Yoo-rin celebrate Christmas!

-Or do whatever you want!

06. Dating Agency: Cyrano

the what: Dating Agency: Cyrano is a Korean drama based off of a movie of the same name (you can watch the whole show right here!) and actually has a pretty silly premise (and casting). Gong Min Young is fired from her matchmaking company job and falls into the Cyrano Dating Agency, which is a theater troupe, who stage grand romantic gestures to match two people together. There she meets Seo Byung Hoon (the main love interest dude) among others.

the why: This k-drama is so silly but really well acted and still enjoyable. The matchmaking "missions" for each episode (or multiple episodes in some cases) are always really cute and require a lot of creativity to make work. For the exchange, I have requested fic of the side couple, Moo Jin and Hye Ri, because I really, really love them together. Moo Jin is very reserved and is often called a robot by the other characters but cute, bubbly Hye Ri brings him out of his shell and helps him to feel (super cliche sounding I know but it's really rather cute in the show). And while Hye Ri may not be all that she seems (avoiding important plot spoilers here), she really, truly cares for Moo Jin and puts up with him being a little weird and not fully understanding how to interact with people. She really has a lot of patience. I like the balance that they bring to each other; Hye Ri needs Moo Jin's calm rational thinking to keep her out of tight spots and Moo Jin needs Hye Ri's excitable demeanor to enjoy the world a bit more. First loves are really just the best.

the prompts:
-Take one of the many adorable scenes of theirs and write their thought perspectives on it (the kiss! the date with the helmet! etc)

-Moo Jin and Hye Ri go on a date of whatever kind (fancy dinner! technology date like with the helmet! visiting Moo Jin's grandma! etc)

-AU in which Moo Jin and Hye Ri are set up though the dating agency!

-Moo Jin and Hye Ri post the finale of the show! What are they up to?

-Character introspective - like Moo Jin's thoughts from the scene in which he realizes he "likes cute girls" (or whatever). One from Hye Ri's perspective too!

-Or whatever you want!

07. Parasol Protectorate - Gail Carriger

(It's from the manga so close[ish] enough?)
the what: Parasol Protectorate is a 5 book series beginning with Soulless (don't read the other Amazon blurbs/backs of the other books cause spoilers!) that centers on Alexia Tarabotti, a well to do woman who is also a prenatural (one without a soul). Did I also mention that the series is set in Victorian, Steampunk England? And there are vampires and werewolves (oh my!)? It's a clever, enjoyable little series and I highly recommend it. Carriger has a good voice and is also a nice lady (I met her once at a convention) and she blogs pretty regularly about things she enjoys (here!).

the why: I really, truly love this series. I think the world that Carriger crafts is very different from what a lot of people do with the supernatural genre so, there's that part of it. I also really like Alexia as a character. She's feisty and intelligent and clever and sometimes that gets her into trouble or sticky situations which is great because oftentimes characters who are clever and feisty and etc. usually never have anything bad happen to them. I absolutely adore her with Lord Macon. I like that their romance and courtship is in part based on their physical attraction to each other and that that aspect is explored (a lot of things I read don't ever cover that part). I think that the balance each other out well and their romantic scenes are some of my favorite in the book. I also really love all the "side" characters (Ivy & her hats, Madme LeFoux and her inventions, Prof. Lyall and his secrets, etc.)!

the prompts:
If you read the "General" section, you will know that I do not like pregnancy storylines. That "even if it's canon" line is specifically for this series. So as much as Prudence isn't the worst child character ever, please do not do a pregnancy or post pregnancy storyline for this series.

-Alexia and Macon fluff (honeymoon! tell me about their wedding! they go on a trip! etc.)

-Modern day AU (still keeping the supernatural stuff)! How are things different? You could take a scene from the book or you could come up with your own thing.

-What if the series followed prenatural Lord Macon and Alexia was the werewolf (or vampire if you prefer)?

-Or do whatever you want!

Thanks so much again for your participation! And for reading as much of this thing as you did. Apparently I have a lot of feelings about things. I look forward to seeing what you create :3
