School's cool when you don't have to go

Went to help out at Bug's school last night. Bug came along because and I quote: "It's the girls dancing, I mean; it's GIRLS!" The teen letch, so much like his father, bless. So we did drinks and sweets, I was on the drink counter. I personally think we could have done tea and coffee quite easily but the person organising had it all decided. I've done all this stuff before and I know it's a numbers game.

What is it about PA mothers? The ones who do all the organising and hold down jobs and have two perfect children and one perfect husband and a spotless house and perfect garden? Is it the competition? Or do they just have to boss and organise everyone? Is it control? I always thought I wasa control freak until my boys started at school and met the PA mothers. They are all the same, pushy to the parents and smarmy to the teachers. I found out that is is vital to make a huge profit but not to keep the punters happy. Well it is in their books. You sometimes get a good one, like a neighbour of mine who did a lot of work and thought of the children first and made the hugest profits because of that. She knew if you keep the punters happy the profits make themselves. Well as long as it's reasonably priced.

Still this PA mum is in her last year, so unless they can turn the PA into a Friends Of the school she won't be about much longer. Hmmm it would be great if that can be saved until after she leaves. She is so very forceful that she makes me look laid back and relaxed.

Still it was worth the whole evening just to see Bug's PE teacher dressed up in drag and dancing. Even better after to see him plant a big old smacker on one of his louder student's cheek. With lipstick.
