Even though things with Nick were amazing at the moment, it was hard for Karen to remind herself that she did have good things in her life. Focusing on the good wasn't easy when she kept being punched in the gut with the bad on a constant basis.
Of all people, of everyone she befriended and loved, Lennox had to be one of the worst. He'd been one of her beset friends for years, he'd lived through so much hurt that just having him disappear felt so unfair. Karen would admit to selfishly wishing she had her friends back every day, but Lennox more so than anyone else.
Nick did his best, as always, to keep her spirits up, and he managed it regularly. It was just that Karen still had some low moments, and standing in the middle of the third floor rec center, trying to figure out what video to play to lose her mind for a few minutes.
