I wish I'd planted some violas - now all my tulips have gone over, there's hardly anything left in flower in my garden. I failed to plan sufficiently far ahead!

I love Solomon's Seal. I came across it growing semi-wild by the Holy Well in Evershot a few years ago...

I've just read a book (Wakenhyrst) in which Solomon's Seal is a powerful and potentially evil herb! I may look that up.

How lovely to find 'wildings'. I like the idea of having herb Robert in my garden - named for my son ;) The violas are beautiful, I love them very much :)

It's a beautiful day! x

There are quite a few untended spots in my garden, and that's how I like it! Herb Robert (Geranium robertianum) is so pretty, with its finely divided leaves and little pink flowers. You see it all over the place.

I love violas, too, because of their little cat faces and the way they keep on giving. They need a lot of deadheading but so far have escaped slugs. I did remove a large snail from a corner of the trough.

Amazingly hot, yet with such a strong breeze a big towel wash was dry in no time. Enjoy the sun!

I have never seen Solomon’s seal with unravaged leaves before. Lovely. I love the idea of wildings but can’t be doing with herb Robert - hate the smell.

Unshredded leaves were a very pleasant surprise.

But it's so pretty!
