What I did on my summer vacation:
-Drove the bulk of Missouri (the state that covers about half of the 600+ mile journey) both ways.
-Got a new cousin and my aunt got two new grandkids.
-Learned how to do a floral arrangement. I’m not great at it, but I did learn. Flowers are the only things I took pictures of on this trip, and they’ll be up later if you’re interested.
-Watched part or all of five movies: Bullitt, Bourne Identity, Batman Begins, Bourne Supremacy, and Shooter. I was kind of hoping to keep the alliteration going, but oh well. Out of those five, Bourne Identity and Batman Begins were my favorites.
-Ate lots of good food and gained five pounds.
-Encouraged my cousin’s daughter’s writing hobby.
-Was introduced to something called Toon Town. If you’re familiar with role playing games like Star Wars Galaxies, it’s the same thing only with Disney characters for kids where you go and defeat things called Cogs by making them laugh and pulling pranks on them.
-Read the first story in Yobi’s AU series. I printed off the first three (all 815 pages-thank you IU for free printing pages each semester) to take me with to read. It’s going to be fun watching his style develop and his writing improve. The storyline was a very interesting way to keep Anakin Solo alive in the NJO.
-Answered my cousin’s question to our grandma of “How long until Sara is old enough to play with me?” The answer: when I’m 23.
-Talked Photoshop with my uncle and got to see some more of his photography, of which I’m extremely jealous. To see some of his stuff, go here.
-Spent a few hours with my sister before she flew home and went off to school to learn how to be an RA.
-Got a manicure and a pedicure. And this will more than likely sound horribly racist, but does anyone else worry that the people doing the nails are talking about you when they stop talking in English? That was me the whole time.
-Sat with my grandma and her three sisters at the wedding reception. It’s always good to see the four of them together and listen to them talk.
-Watched my grandparents win the anniversary dance at the reception. This is where all married couples head out to the dance floor and get picked off until the couple who have been married the longest is the last one standing. My grandparents will have their fifty-seventh wedding anniversary in October.
-Watched the Ace of Cakes season three premier. That is pretty much the only show I’ll watch on Food Network. I love their extreme cake designs and the people on there are hilarious.
-Used to be that my aunts would rib my mom about having clear skin, and now that joke has been passed on to the next generation with my cousin giving me a hard time about it. Yes, I’m pale. It’s not like I want to be clear, it’s just what I was born with.
