One Year Later

A year ago I started my Nano challenge.  Thinking about it now, part of me wonders whether or not it was really worth it.  Yes, I have the majority of an epic written.  Yes, it made me outline the following two stories in the trilogy.  But it also left me with a mess to edit.  I don't have the energy to refine it.  I can't begin to think about starting the next story (or really even finishing the one I spent a month writing last year) because I don't feel like I've done enough with what I have.

Any one else been in this situation?  Which do you think is better: leaving the plot bunnies in your head or half-finished on paper?
