My big ol' Harry Potter post, while enjoying my day off.
So, I've been rereading the series, in expectation of DH (I started HBP yesterday), and I've really, really been enjoying them...I'd forgotten, I think, how good they actually are. It's interesting, I think I got so caught up in fandom that I'd lost track of how much fun the source material is.
It's come about time to post my spoiler warning...and I'm serious- please do NOT, under any circumstances post DH spoilers, links to DH spoilers, references to DH spoilers, etc. in my journal or comments. Please don't post any of these things in YOUR journals, either, unless they're under an lj-cut or flocked so that I can't see them. I promise to do the same- on the 21st, I'll probably be liveblogging as I'm reading; I'm just going to make one post, and it'll be under a cut. Until then, I won't mention anything, except, possibly, spoiler-free speculation. I'm also probably going to stay pretty internet free for about the week beforehand, since it's all too easy to get spoiled accidentally.
Also, before the last book comes out, that meme I keep seeing:
1. Favorite Book so far?
Either GoF or OotP...they're the most complex, and, to me, fascinating.
2. Least Favorite book so far?
CoS, I think.
3. Favorite movie so far?
Meh. I don't really like any of them. Probably SS, if I had to choose.
4. Least favorite movie so far?
To be honest, I'm kind of meh about all of them...GoF.
5. Number of times you have re-read the series?
5? 6?
6. Favorite character?
Harry, with Hermione, Snape, and Dumbledore as close seconds.
7. Most hated character?
Umbridge!
8. Most annoying character?
Hagrid.
9. Favorite Spell (book or movie)
I don't really have one. AK?
10. Favorite magical animal?
I liked the baby unicorns....
11. Which magical object wouldn't you mind having?
A wand? A broom would be pretty awesome, too.
12. Do think Harry or his scar is a Horcrux?
No.
13. Snape: friend or foe?
Friend. The unsung hero of the series.
14. Out of these which would you want to be?
1. A skilled legilimens
2. An Animagus (If this, what form?)
3. Metamorphmagus
4. Parselmouth
An animagus. Everyone tells me I'd be a cat, and I'm pretty comfortable withthat.
15. Which house would you be in?
Ravenclaw.
16. Strangest theory(ies) you have heard so far?
I'm out of the loop on meta...you know what the strangest theory I've heard is? Anything Harry/Hermione.
17. Favorite book moment?
Right this instant? Fred and George leaving Hogwarts. It changes depending on what I've just read, though.
18. Book moment that made you cry?
Dumbledore's "Remember Cedric Diggory" speech.
19. Favorite Movie Quote?
"We could be killed. Or worse, expelled!" Just for the delivery.
20. Favorite Book Quote?
"You should have died. Died rather than betray your friends. As we would have done for you." I also LOVE Dumbledore's "You are with me" at the end of HBP.
