it's all happening :)
migs and i went to see fr. bob today. oh wow, it was such a pleasant visit. not only were we able to swap stories about grad studies abroad, the latest news in the ateneo community, and whatever other random things... migs and i were able to discuss our plans with a third person for the first time - and it felt AMAZING to finally be able to share this with someone else. i mean, sure we've told people that we've talked about getting married, but we were never TOGETHER at the time, and never really went into detail. i suppose it's because no one ever felt bold enough to ask directly as fr. bob did. he literally said, "when are you getting married?"
we told him we hoped to get married shortly after i get my degree. the discussion even went so far as our intention to migrate to australia eventually. it was pretty surreal. actually getting this out of our private bubble. it just made it all the more REAL :) then fr. bob excused himself for a moment to try and see if a friend of ours who now lives in san jose seminary might be around so that we might say hello. then migs suggested that we ask fr. bob NOW if he could officiate the wedding. i threw it back at him, and with both of us chickening out, we ended up doing rock paper scissors to try and determine who would do it. we were tied at 0 when fr. bob came back. we decided we'd just ask him when i graduate.
but wow.. :) it was so wonderful to be able to share this with someone else, and even more wonderful that that someone fr. bob, who could not be any more supportive, and even blessed us before we left :)
