How Do I Love TheevlredreignJuly 30 2007, 21:39:08 UTC
You sure know how to make me feel better.
A word, a cyber-hug, just being there. And then you post this beautiful scene that doesn't get quite as much attention as it should.
ITA with your assessment of that incident. While the scene at the loft between Brian and John were rather humorous (the back kick, Brian flushing John's head), John's accusing Brian of sexual molestation infuriated me beyond all reason. I remember talking with someone about this years ago, this type of accusation. I maintained that society seemed to have a need to portray gay men as pedophiles and sexual predators, cause god knows straight men don't do that. CowLip's secision to write and air this rammed that fact home, that they ARE people who believe that very thing. And the break in Brian's voice when he tells his sister and his mother "fuck you", well, that says it all. To think that her own son would be capable of doing that.
Of course Brian's "real" family thought nothing of the kind. In Debbie's own words: "Brian Kinney may be a lot of things, but he's no child molester", that's your family having your back. Justin going out to prove that showed that not only did he believe in Brian, but that perhaps some of his own thoughts about who and what Brian were may have been mistaken. Brian made sure that Justin's tuition was paid, and gave him a job that ensured that he'd have money for food and whatever.
That last scene, when Justin puts the bracelet back on, his touch lingers overlong. They both feel it, that "thing" that they have. It's not gone. Brian knows it, and so does Justin. And so it begins.
Nice job on the pics, both you and marilla_pm67. Plus, I just LOVE that walk away shot. Third from the bottom. I need an icon of that. :D

Plus, I just LOVE that walk away shot. Third from the bottom. See I know that and that was partly why I put this one up.
You were having a bad day. I wanted to make it better.
And you have a way of always making my day great. With your insightful and positive commets.
Thank you for that.

I know. That is so hot. The emotions are so close, so palpable. Just goes to show, they didn't even need their clothes off to make a scene erotic.

*hugs you so friggin tight*
That's why I loved the eye fuck scene of 307 as well. They were with different people, and they were so totally with each other. There was no way they weren't getting back together. Pain management, yeah, okay, but...that look on Justin's face, and you just know Brian is thinking "If we weren't both back here, and if I was sure no one would see me being a pussy, I would SO take you home and fuck the despair away."
Or something. lol
Know what my other fave scene is in that arc? Justin sitting at the bar in Woody's, after catching Ethan in Harrisburg. The look on his face is actually worse than the look from 307. It was the first hit. And Justin was still so young, you know it? He may have wanted Brian back by then (you know he did), but he wasn't going to be the one to cheat first. And Brian looks at him, and you know he's going "YAY!! The fiddler fucked up, just a matter of time!" But Justin is hurt, and Brian just has to say something. Cause, dammit, nobody hurts Justin like that (cept him, but he's working on that). But that scene kills me, because Justin can barely look Brian in the eye, and his face looks so young and so little-boy-lost. Plus, it don't hurt that they're playing Sola Sistim. :D

It hurts to see Justin hurting. And it only got worse with the scene in Ethan's apartment with the shredding of the flowers. Jesus...Justin hurt so much but man did he come back to life. It was like he was sleep walking for so much of the first part of the season. But when he told Ethan, "I never forgave Brian. I never had to cause he never promised me anything. You did."
Re: How Do I Love TheevlredreignJuly 31 2007, 00:50:39 UTC
You are so right about the sleepwalking thing. Did you notice that Justin never once said "I love you, Ethan"? Not once. Ethan said it, and the closest Justin came was when Ethan said "Love you", and Justin said, "You, too." That's NOT an I love you. And he spent those episodes trying to convince himself and everyone else that he and Ethan were meant to be. Oh, in the grocery store with Daphne, Justin said I must really love him, or something to that effect, cause Daphne's all "uh huh." lol God, I love Daphne!!! She even calls him a cheeseball! But still, that's not an I love you. And I thought that said more than anything else. When he's tearing up the roses, as you said, he started to wake up. Then Ethan made that stupid comment about how many times Justin forgave Brian, and whoa! That did it. I think that made Justin think about what he had done, and he wasn't about to make that mistake again.
And I was beyond happy that Brian caught him topping. Justin needed to be in charge.
Yeah. 307 was very haunting.
Okay, cute Justin moment. 414, when Brian's trying to guess which movie star Justin fucked, and Justin whispers it to him. He has that dimply Sunshine grin. And Brian's kinda like "That's my boy!" So cute.

Hey Red, you just picked out my fav scenes ever, the Eyefuck in 307, like OMFG it kills me, Brian could of had the President sucking his dick & he'd never of known lol, no one else exsisted for them both, I have hit the RW button 10000 times :) & then the roses that Justin smacks into Ian;s face, & his "so you couldn't bare to be without me, for one fucking night, you decide to pick up some drooling admirer", Randy was so great in that scene, he couldn't get out of the fucking door quick enough :) God S3 & epis 307 & 308 hold some of my fav B&J moments ever, when I compare it to S5, I cringe, still miss it, do you?? hope your well, Sexy P.xxxx
