I thought he was asking me out, or something, I'm not sure what I thought he was doing to be honest, so I started to tell him not to change his plans on my account (Because I had no intention of going to Hogsmeade anyway). And then he said, 'What? I was going to say there were a lot of other blokes you could go with' or something equally awful.
See? There, Marlene. I talked to you about something. Just don't go tell the whole school. Or James.

I've always said he was hopeless, though.
This wouldn't be even slightly connected to the time you said that you "hated him", would it? Because if he thinks you hate him, it's really highly likely that he might have been intending to say something else but chickened out when it looked like you were interrupting him.

If you want to get mad at someone for saying that you spent all your bloody time with James in the hospital, why don't you direct it at the person who told him that information first. Not that I want my boyfriend to get a tongue lashing by you, but if you feel he deserves it by all means have at it. I did not tell James anything he did not already know about it.
What I *did* tell him was that you didn't hate him anymore. That you liked him. Not like *liked* him like fancied him, but liked him. Just as you like, say, Remus. I did not tell him that you said you fancied him. I said nothing of the kind. I would never say anything like that to him even if you *had* said that to me. Now if I told Sirius something and *he* told James, then by all means you have every right to beat the snot outta him.

First of all, did I ASK you to tell James that I didn't hate him? Did it occur to you that he could take the word 'like' the wrong way? Besides, I thought that telling you something that was obviously private in our dorm implied that you wouldn't go running off to tell him about it. Most importantly, I confided in you and you have apparently been pissing all over that confidence by telling your boyfriend about it.

I do not understand why you are so all fired upset Lily. Not hating someone is nothing to get your knickers in a twist for. And I do believe that I did in fact say to James that by 'like' I meant not hate. If he misconstrued that it in his warped brain it is not my fault at all
