Oh no, it's going to make me cry, isn't it? I don't want to watch anything sad right now. I really can't take it. Is the ending sad? (But I will save it until I can bear to watch it. It looks lovely otherwise

I especially love Hiroshi and his little voiceovers at the beginning of every episode -- they crack me up. Yeah, those parts are great! I love 'em too. And when Sunako and Kyouhei get competitive, it's so hilariously awesome. She kicks ass! It's like the best pick-me-up at the end of the day. Also, I though it was really sweet that Kyouhei knows her skull is named John, and so when she's freaking about having been kissed by the "dazzling creature" (hee, that never gets old), instead of saying "bring me a skull" he says "bring me John" and I just really loved that for some reason.
Are you watching Vampire Knight? *points to your icon* How do you like it so far?Oh. That. *cough

I think that's what's so great about the show -- there's all these little seemingly throwaway moments that are actually quite meaningful when it comes to showing, not telling, how much Sunako and the boys care about each other and how strong the bonds of friendship are between all of them. I adore how even though the boys are wigged out by Sunako's morbidity and are supposed to try and make her into a lady, they really doaccept her for who she is. Perfect case in point is how sympathetic they were to her freak out about missing Halloween; they totally accepted that it was very important to her and it was awesome how they threw her that party. The friendship between Sunako and Noi is really touching too -- Noi is probably the first

Dang, we can really write some essays in these comments, can't we?! Hee.
The way the boys are drawn in Vampire Knight definitely zings all my fangirl buttons -- skinny with broad shoulders, gorgeous perfect hair, beautiful eyes and poetically thin faces...yum. In a word - YES. And don't forget, tall. I love a big height difference. Ahhhhhh, Zero. He's so gorgeous to me, I can't stop reading! It's sick! XD
how do you like the character of Yuuki? She seemed kind of vapid and weak from the little I saw of the animeExcept that she's fiercely protective of Zero, I found her a little "....that's it?" too. I do like that she defied Kaname and broke some major taboos, for him. I just wish she had more personality. There's a Mary Sue-ish thing where her blood is evidently especially delicious to vamps that hasn't been explained, but her past is a mystery, so there may be a reason. Also, other characters are constantly asking what she is to Kaname as well, so the reader isn't alone in wondering what's so special about her...I hope that's

As usual, you are my insanely helpful encyclopedic resource for fangirl activity. Awesome. *dutifully Googles*
Mamoru Miyano. Gulp. I think he is gorgeous. And I didn't know he voiced Light! I was all excited to watch that in English b/c of the voice actors that have been chosen, but now I'll really have to watch it both ways. And also, he does work in Ouran HSHC which I was also planning on watching. Neat! Yay! Because he is really, really good. I don't think I'd like Zero quite as much if he didn't have that voice.
Daisuke Kishio. Boy I never would have suspected such a dead sexy voice would belong to him, but I am a now a big fan too. VK is lucky to have him, his voice is perfect for Kaname. In fact I think both these guys are better than the actual role.
And Hongo Kanata who plays Shin in the second NANA movie is so perfect as Shin that if I didn't know, I would've thought Ai Yazawa drew Shin based on Hongo. You're right, his face has the same shape as Shin. (I would know this because I already have a bunch of saved icons of

As usual, you are my insanely helpful encyclopedic resource for fangirl activity. My pleasure, really! My growing love for anime is still kind of my fun dirty little secret. I doubt my work friends would understand because I think most of them think Anime = Hentai. My sister is useless to squee with as well because, while she loves a lot of the live action adaptations, she is allergic to anything non live action. She could barely sit through an episode of NANA which I personally think is one of the best animes out there

My growing love for anime is still kind of my fun dirty little secret Ha ha, mine too. It's more fun that way anyway.
unlike in Hollywood, voice actors in Japan don't do it because they have trouble finding on camera work and some of the top Japanese voice actors are considered and treated like superstars. I've noticed the entertainment industry seems to be less stringently divided over there. I'm thinking of how many print adds, commercials, and video game voiceovers Takeshi does, and it doesn't affect his movie star status at all. That kind of career freedom and fluidity must be nice.
I think that would actually be an AWESOME paper topic! Certainly a fun one. I almost wish I was still in school.
I like the way they say 'vampire,' too -- they're all 'vahmpyaaarh.' Haha. How much do I love that you spelled it out. XD
My sister and I are convinced he's our long lost Japanese cousin because he looks just like pictures we've seen of our uncles on our mom's side when they were around his age Yeah you WISH. Too funny.
