Seeing Stars

May 27, 2010 15:39

A couple weeks ago I was in Sears looking for new socks and they had a Stars on Ice autograph session. I saw Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir and thought "Oh, that's cool. They have gold medals." There were some other people I didn't recognize, and Joannie Rochette, who I did. And then I passed the other side of the table, saw Kurt Browning, and my pulse totally jumped. There's someone I've known about for more than five minutes, who I remember watching when I was a kid! The line was too long to get any autographs, but I got a picture of Kurt Browning and was very excited.

Normally I try not to be annoying and describe stuff like this in detail to friends, but then last Friday we went to see Eddie Izzard (who was SO good, as usual) and hung out by the stage door afterward. When I saw him in Seattle he came out and answered questions. This time he came out and took pictures with everyone and gave autographs! I was literally jumping up and down with excitement after because he's one of my favorite performers ever.

And today I had lunch at the store with Susan Juby. She's super nice and talked about her books, other people's books, and stuff in general. I'm really glad it was my day off so I got more than half an hour for lunch.

To top off a post about things that made me very excited, I've started a new blog. It's at http://www.becksabec.blogspot.com/ I'm not giving up here, but I need something that will force me to post more of what I write, which will force me to write more. So if you feel like reading what I'm writing, please do.
