Avenue Q

I was a bit skeptical about seeing the show, but my dad invited me...free dinner -  free night at the theater.  At the minimum it would have been just a fun night hanging with my dad and his friends.  The show's characters are mostly puppets with some humans thrown in there.  I couldn't imagine how anyone could pull off such a show, let alone a show that is Tony Award winner.  The whole concept of the puppets threw me and without a doubt thought it would be LAME!  I couldn't have been more wrong.  The show is brilliantly written.  The cast is amazing!  The cast members that play a "puppet" are actually carrying the puppets.  At first it was a bit odd to see these people singing with puppets(not ventrilliquists), but after the first couple of numbers you don't even see the person anymore.

The show is about a recent college grad, Princeton, who is trying to find his purpose.  Topics such as sex, alcohol and the internet(is for porn) are  brought up throughout Princeton's journey to "purpose".  The internet scene cracked me the hell up.  I think I'll be saying "grab your dick and double click" for a long long time!

At any rate,  Avenue Q is refreshingly funny.  Makes you laugh and makes you think about choices you've made for  yourself  throughout your life.  If you have an opportunity to see it, DON'T MISS IT!  AWESOME!
