Had the Great Value Spam the other day & it was great! Had a mahi plate from Blanes that was ono as shit! Signed up for their Rewards Program n the texted receipt had Hilo, but the Rewards Program has me redeeming coupons/deals at the Orchidland location? Hope their Support Team can help me get it fixed.....
Also tried a new pasta sauce ( Classico's 4 cheese) w/ the last of my tortellini ( sucked having to throw away the plastic bin but I did repurpose 2)...I hope to do my Target tortellini/Cheesy Toast for dinners and after I eat everything in my rack pantry, then trying a $20-$25 food budget for a week and see how long it can last..
I made half of my 4Patriots ground beef btw! It was frustrating trying to figure out the directions since I wanted to make 4 servings vs the 1 serving directions of meat/water needed. But I managed to get all the measuring calculations right ( 4 tablespoons = 1/4 cup of meat and 2 tablespoons for the 1/8 cup of water)...yeah, NO WAY are there 13 servings left in that bag so false advertising there btw...I made exactly one pound of meat..
But regardless, the reconstinuating worked out very well and while I had 2 moments of spitting out the meat due to getting those hard pieces you sometimes get ( proof it's real meat, right?), my idea of using it for taco meat over rice ended up being great! Loved that the meat smelled like meat even w/o the seasoning.. but overall, the meat TASTED FREAKING FANTASTIC! Totally surpassed my expectations and utterly blew me away at how natural the meat tastes....My leftovers the next day came out even better as no hard bits hehe!
I was inspired to try asking for free samples from all the big name players...Legacy Food Storage said yes, how many ppl and for how long ( I said 4 for a week, we will see how much and what entrees I get sent), ReadyHour and Valley Food Storage said no, but can buy sample packs for $20 ( cuz HI), VFS had $10 for 3 entrees ( & free Shipping but didn't check out so dk if extra fee kicks in, but all 3 are just soups( 3 which I have yet to try) yeah, no thanks to both....asked my last resort ReadyWise and they ALSO SAID YES so I will have 2 packages to wait for in the next coming weeks...I mean, quite a lot of people have TRIED ReadyWise and like it so maybe I will too..
I have been on a ramen/pasta kick lately and am going to try Ichiban AND Ramen Express' beef flavors this weekend w/one night in between of Texas Toast. I also got both brands chicken flavor offering too ( smelling the chicken saimin seasoning cooking as I walked past the Japanese restaurant today on my way back from the gym, smells SO good!) that I will try next week..going to see if KTA or SackNSave had the roast chicken/roast beef flavor as I have heard those are better...
Love that my picking up KozyShack pudding tub ( 2 for $7.50 on sale vs $5 each if NOT a Club Member) ended up being a good choice as I hope my opened tub lasts a week ( keeps better than a few cups of the box mix (+ gotta get milk then...) and it tasted just the Jello chocolate puddings...delish!:)..
