So last night,my Mom said she wants to move to Cali in her trip to help Jamie guys. I told her I want to move to WA but can't if I have to pay all rent. She offered to give me $300 for a few months but that would mean upping my move and not having enough still. So dk what will happen but she said I won't be left hanging. I rented Collateral Beauty, Sugar Mountain and A Dog's Purpose yesterday.
Lucked out in the rain holding off this morning. Got my BK burrito but still got to The Y early so I biked up to the Whitman bridge before turning around, getting to the Y's bike rack and doing some stretches. Met Andrew in the parking lot and he told me he missed the earlier class ( he was doing the 7 and 8 AM) and I said well 2 spin classes might be overdoing it.
I signed it, heard about their membership promo, and walked to Sundstrund and heard about the various spin instructors Andrew has taken. We talked a bit about the heatwave and it interrupting biking plans and then we walked into the class. I got my bike and after testing out the height, thought it was right but after a half hour of being in the class, the instructor said my seat's too low still so she fixed it. Idk if my handlebars were too high but for some reason, when I would stand up, the seat was just like an inch away and irritating.
I did try to do all the different resistances but sometimes my feet would pedal faster than everyone's and so after a while, I just sat in the saddle during the up parts. Andrew had a hard time w/ all the up/down stuff so the instructor said we should stay in the saddle, make the workout work for you and as long as you're pedaling, you're burning calories! Then came time to do the medicine ball stuff. We did like 3 rounds of that all together.
It never really felt like there was a cool down since we never flipped the switch all the way up ( well some did, including me). Also good thing I started pedaling for 10 minutes before class bc we went straight into 50% resistance, then 65-85% but never 0! I am not good at hill climbing so that's why I did not do as well as I hoped. Andrew had to leave about 10 minutes before class ended. I did ok w/ the stretches that we did before class ended.
I got assistance w/moving the bike out of the way and spoke w/ the instructor for a bit. I told her I am not used to all that resistance and she told me I did great and she liked my energy! It took me a while to find the women's bathroom but after, I went to the Subway that is on the 1st floor and got a 6' one meat, maybe 3 slices sandwich for $5 ( JJ is 2 meats w/8 slices for $7.73 but didn't open for another hour). Inquired about the promo (25% but monthly fee was still mid $30 range, not worth it, going to call and ask if my file's been reviewed yet). I saw rain on my bike seat but rode home w/no rain. I would have stayed to do the open climb but we were expecting t storms at 10 ( 11 now, no storms but definitely some tonight).
If I ever do another spin class,I am taking my workout clothes, bike undies for hard and small seat, towel and maybe a frozen chocolate milk to drink after it's thawed out for after class.
working out,
