(no subject)
I never realized what an effect, us as teenagers, had on younger kids. I especially could have never imagined how much younger kids look up to the cheerleaders, JV or Varsity. This is how it started...
Jules, Lana, Alyssa, Ashley, Ashley and I had to stay after to work at the game selling ribbons (we got there and turns out that we werent needed anyway..). Well, i decided to be a moron and go play on the playground. There were three younger girls there, around the age of 7. One of the girls came over to me and we started talking. Do you know what she said to me... she said and I quote,"Wow, I've never talked with a cheerleader before! This is soo cool!" That made me feel sooo awesome. Anyway, i met her friends and talked with her mother and them for a bit before i went back in. By then, Alyssa and Ashley were gone. So, I got Lana, Ashley Koble, and Jules to come out to meet them. They asked us to do 3 cheers so we did. Then it was "2 more!" "2 more!" THEN, the girls wanted to know if we could do the flips. Now, im all into this...sooo i ask if anyone wants to do it, but no one did. I told them that when we got to the grass at BK Id show her a backhandspring. They thought that was awesome and the other ppl watching said it looked great.
LATER THAT NIGHT!~
I had been cheering my little heart out for soo long! 1 girl told me to shut up. Did i? Um...how abouuut...Do i EVER shut up? NO. so what makes her so special? Nothing, that stupid freshman. Sidetracked sorry. Well, parents had been encouraging me to get louder (which was getting to the point where i couldnt get much louder...)so i did. Well, towards the end of the game a lady came up to me. She said:
"Excuse me. What's your name?"
"Um..Why?"
"Because my daughter bought a cheerleader bear at the table and she wants to name it after you."
"AWE!!!!!..."
and so on and so forth. How cute is that? Omg...it was that most unbelieveable feeling in the world to know that that one particular girl thought that much of me to name a little bear after me. I went over and talked with her. She looked soo happy when i was talking to her! I heard her say something like..I talked with a cheerleader or something like that.
I know that they're small things, but they made a big effect on me. I always knew that there were little kids that looked up to people, but today just changed it all for me in ways i cant even discribe.
NOW FOR MY VENTING!~
ok, your put on a squad for a reason. If you have a problem with that then quit! Because if you dont want to be on the squad due to the fact that you think you deserve a "better" squad, it shows in your attitude. And its really aggravating. No, its stupid as all heck. Get over it and suck it up. Things happen for a reason. Its not the end of the world! Its ONLY cheerleading! Yeah Varsity is a "better" squad then JV. But, the squad is what you make of it. JV COULD be better than varsity. Sadly, if you have it drilled into your mind that JV will never be that could because of a freaking name...than it wont. No squad is "better" than the other. Learn the difference between the two. There is a rhyme and a reason for everything. Just be happy your on a freakin squad.
