I think I used to be a member of that, but I left. Sounds like a good time to come back, thanks!

Wow, you were very busy! Go you!

How did you like Gone Girl? I hear constant praise for that book.

I'm also interested in your thoughts on The Hum and the Shiver. :) I read that one in 2011, and my rating pretty much fell where yours did.

Gone Girl: I was not really enjoying it at first. It was mostly a portrait of an increasingly dysfunctional marriage as described in alternating chapters by Nick and Amy. But THEN, there is a major plot twist at the halfway point of the book, and it becomes a really cool study of social pathology. I do recommend it ( ... )

I've read a lot of Let's Pretend This Never Happened in the Barnes & Noble because i don't want to pay for it in hardcover, and I think she is pretty funny, although there were some sections that felt unpleasantly hyper, like she wrote them when she high on cocaine or something. The author actually reminded me of myself in that we're both neurotic and funny (well, people tell me I'm funny.) And we both have rheumatoid arthritis.

You are funny! When it comes out in trade this year, there's going to be a bonus chapter, so you should pick it up. She may feel at times unpleasantly hyper, but as a whole, the book is definitely worth it. I know you talked about starting your own blog, and I can definitely see you picking up some tips from her. :)

I'm posting my review of this Wednesday.

According to LibraryThing, I managed to read 12 books in December. Pretty sure it was more than that, but that's my own fault for forgetting to enter them ( ... )

Sounds like a busy month!

Yeah, I keep hearing that about Dresden, but I just can't bring myself to devote the time that I'll need to spend to actually watch him get better, if that makes sense. I won't skip books and I won't read out of order, so...

Who knows, maybe one day in the far future I'll give it a shot!
