Bacigalupi, Paolo: this was a no-brainer for me. I've been frothing at the mouth for a novel from this guy since I read my first short story of his, "Pop Squad." I absolutely adore Bacigalupi's intelligent, sometimes brutal, and always well-written dystopias, so as soon as I learned the book was shipping from Amazon, I ordered it. I can't wait to read it, even though there's a few books ahead of it in the queue. :)
Stiefvater, Maggie: I debated on this one. I'd borrowed and read Stiefvater's debut,
Lament and liked it well enough, but not enough to secure my own copy or track down the sequel. However, this book? Is about werewolves. Between that and the fact it's getting consistently good reviews (and remember, I've got a werewolf fetish over here, yo!), I finally broke down. Let's hope it's worth the cost of the hardcover.
Beagle, Peter S.: I should've bought this collection when it was released originally. Why I didn't, I don't know, but with other Beagle titles waiting on my Amazon wishlist, I decided to give this collection a shot first. When I'll get around to it, I'm not sure.
Buckner, M.M.: I've been keeping an eye on this one since its hardcover release, so when I saw it available in mass-market, I nabbed it. I enjoyed her (yes, HER)
War Surf well enough, and I enjoy the fact she's one of those authors who doesn't write what's considered traditional SF. I'm looking forward to this one, but this is another I have no idea of when I'll get to it.
