robert zimmerman's and garlic mash
so, i went to go see shaun's bob dylan coverband (called the robert zimmerman's) at the purple crab on saturday, . it was a good time!! it was a show/b'day party for shaun and missy! I think shaun just said that so he could get more people out. his b'day was like 10 days ago. he's good at the marketing because it worked...lotso folks, including his dad and uncles (one looked like chuck norris)!! random attendees of interest - chris (me date), missy (co-guest of honor), james, dare (all the way from the downtown core), sahasra, kana, elis, bones, adam (he has a new job at long and maquade), kalla, chris (shaun's roomie), and other folk i didn't know!!?! i had a big plate of garlic mash and a rum n'coke. post show, dare had a made craving for some fritz fries...we attempted to jump into the cab, but alas...only room for 4! so, chris and i made it home in the piss rain sans a vehicle. it was a good walk...as always.
i had an all chris day on saturday and friday night. i borrowed mitch's longboard and we practiced at trout lake. i was having some balance issues...but i think i could eventually get the hang out of it. chris had a little more skill with it because of his snowboard experience. then we played a game of hitting random things on a mural against the school wall w/ a "found" tennis ball! Hand-eye-coordination...not so good!
saturday we got up after noon after another night of NO sleep! perhaps we caught an hour or so!?! we trecked back down to main street and found a fairly modest looking restaurant called slickity jim's or something!?! it was pretty cool inside and main street trendy. but, the food was adaquate. it had a real homemade feel to it. like if you stayed at someones house and they made a meal-out-the-remaining-ingredients-out-of-their- cupboards-before-there-weekly-shopping-trip kind of homemade. i had good company, so it was a good time. i hadn't had scrambled tofu in a while and the homemade cranberry/strawberry jam was tasty. we picked up some clothes for chris at front. he got some nice stuff and all looked flattering. i found out that i had gained a couple more pant sizes that i had noticed before. hmmm....fall/winter hibernation took a toll. oh well, it'll work itself out, i'm sure. we checked out planet bingo...yikes, i have new found respect for those grannies. it requires far more mental capacity then i had realized. it's all very blurry...i remember numbers being called, patterns on the board, paper being torn, creepy guy w/ a creepy smile, smell of smoke and cleaner and ink everywhere...then i remember losing everyhing! yet, i'd do it again!!!!
today, i woke up and cleaned my entire room and removed some shtuff that was taking up much needed roomage. i put up some curtain's and vaccumed the hell out of the floor. i like it! now i must actually do my homework. what a shame!?!
