My cousins have just gotten on there plane to head back to London. It was really nice having a real heart-to-heart w/ Abbey this afternoon. The whole family went to the Sylvan Hotel for breakfast and then did a lap of Stanley Park. I walked around w/ Abbey and talked about life and the likes, she really is quality!! I'm glad that Paul has such good taste. But, I already miss them! It would be pretty awesome if they moved here and it didn't have to be years between visits. Great people, great times!
I just got a call from Adam and he wants me to join him for a beer and to watch some sort of game at Avanti on the drive. He's good people, but I just saw him this morning. His voice is still hoarse from our drunkish adventure. I met up w/ a whole bunch of friends last night to watch the Buttless Chaps at the Railway Club. Julie, Susan and Shannon were there and I now recognize what good conversation they are. I should really hang out w/ Julie when I'm not exhausted though. Then Bri, Ed, Adam, Chairice, and Shaun and friends were there as well. Chairice ended up pulling a mack down on Shaun and kissing him before the end of the night was over. I met up w/ Paul Blasig, his brother and Joel (a friend they made that night from hanging out at the Railway, he was visiting from Mexico). Paul's so awesome, it's really too bad he's moving to Africa next week. He's trying to help me get a job w/ Doctors without Borders (the organization he works for) as a logistician. He's going to try to work his connections for me. We'll see! He was going to try to help me get a job doing landscaping w/ Blasig Landscaping, but honestly, I'm not that interested!! Unfortunately, after this program is over, I probably won't have a lot to do w/ landscaping. Ahhh life...how you must live to learn!?! Yeah, so after the fun at The Railway, Julie, Adam and I headed to Julie's house for another round of drinks and some pot smokage. I was fairly exhausted, but I just didn't want to go to bed at that point. It was a good time and I got home at around 5am. No more late nights and drinking for me for a while. The last two weeks have been good enough.
Previous to the Railway, I went to a potluck at Sahasra and Kana's house. I love that couple...they make me sooo happy! The highlight was the tortilla baked samosa's w/ chutney made by Kana. The whole crowd of people were fantastic at this party. I brought Masami and she enjoyed herself. She hasn't been surrounded by as many japanese people, since she was actually living in Japan. There were only 5 non Japanese people, and I was one of them! Everybody was having so much fun and I made a friend in this guy named Hiroshimo....Masami and I are going to take him out to lunch in the next couple of weeks. He said he finds it really hard to make friends with people in this city. We're his new friends! We're thinking of taking him to T. It's a tea shop on Broadway. Masami and I went there on Friday and had a blast!!! You could go there and be totally hydrated and not pay a cent. They give you a plethora of samples from the moment you walk in. My favourite tea was hazelnut. It was unreal!
It was Jenny's party on Friday, also a potluck theme. It seemed the theme was also "foods that can kill you" because somebody brought a dozen donuts, a tray of fudge, lemon squares, a b'day cake, cheezy/crabby/creme dip, nacho's and other artery clogging foods. The crowd was mostly made up of my old classmates from highschool. The crowd was great, even when Frank came by and offended every girl there. Happy birthday Jenny!!
But, there is no greater highlight to my weekend, then the research that I'm putting into for estimating class. The topic is Vancouver City Tree By-laws and Guidelines. I've been using the by-laws as a pillow for the last two days. Today is no exception.
