Life update

Yes, another post. Expect a lot of these, if all goes well, because Christmas break means time to write all the entries I've been meaning to but just haven't had time. I have so many things I want to get done now that I finally have freedom. I'm going to do some intensive writing, and posting here, and setting up my writing journal, and making another batch of icons, and doing family holiday stuff, and baking, and look at me filling up all my free time with so many leisure time activities that I don't have any free time. I'm making myself insanely busy because I finally have time where I'm not insanely busy. I think I must be insane. (Oh, wait, I already knew that.)

And on Friday, I'm going to Hawaii!

Oh, plus I want to sleep. (As Sam said on Friday, "I think I have a vague memory of what sleep is.") Particularly because I had an especially brutal finals week this year, and ended up staying up late every night. (As a result, I conked out in the middle of Buffy-watching with Mary on Friday night.) I was particularly worried about AP Bio, since my grade there was hanging by a thread (it had actually gotten all the way down to 88.9), but I managed to pull it up to an 91.7 since I got 177/180 on the final, thank Eru. And then Mr. Hackett gave us an 11-page review packet for Precalc, which was muchly ick. But I came out with my A's and now it's all over, and I is FREE!

I went to three different parties Friday night: Eli's birthday, then the dance team Christmas party, then what was supposed to be Mary and Tiana's and my Christmas party, but Tiana flaked out and didn't show (which yeah, I'm kinda bitter about because it's because of her that we started planning this a month in advance and then she has to go and cancel at the last minute), so it ended up just being a typical sleepover for Mary and I. And I'm all like, "So this is what it's like to have a social life. ...And, ya know, be something vaguely resembling a normal teen."

Yesterday, we had this really cool Winter Solstice service at church. It was very pagan-esque, actually, with calling the directions and lighting candles and all. And we did a lot of singing and a bit of storytelling, and at the end we all went outside and lit sparklers. And I had a large part, as the Guardian of the North. And Michael showed up totally unexpectedly, which was the best surprise I've had in a good while. He only comes rarely, and when he does it's usually because I've been nagging him to.

And he gave me BtVS season 4 for Christmas! Plus, last week he gave me the sweetest card. It had this pic of a cute little penguin with a scarf and earmuffs, holding a present behind its back, and it said, "The good thing about you is pretty much everything." And on the inside, "Just thought you should know." I think I showed it to just about every friend I have at school. I need to do something with Michael before I leave for Hawaii. It's been far too long since we did anything outside of school.

Last night Sam came over for a Buffy marathon. Jessi and Sam (different Sam) were also planning on coming, but in the end neither of them could make it, which was sad. But Sam and I still had a great time. We had pizza and chocolates and sparkling cider and stayed up till 2:30 and watched a total of 8 episodes: Welcome to the Hellmouth, The Harvest, Something Blue, Hush, Enemies, Earshot, Revelations, and Surprise. And I showed her my video from ASRA and my icons and we showed each other cool B/A music videos on YouTube.

real life, btvs
