I'm reading the book Bringing Up Boys by James Dobson, and I can honestly say it's a great book. But reading it has opened my eyes to the evil pervading our culture and I am honestly starting to feel scared. I am thankful that I don't have any desire to bear and raise children, because I'm not sure how I would raise them in today's world. There is so much junk vying for young minds today and young people are under attack. There is lack of mentors and suitable authority figures also. But I won't bore you guys with details. However, I do think Bringing Up Boys is an excellent read to open ones eyes to how boys are and how we can shape them to be excellent fathers, husbands, and stewards of the Lord. A new book, Bringing Up Girls is coming out next year and I am going to read it as well. I think it will help me understand myself better like how I was as a girl and now how I am as a young woman.
I went to celebrate recovery tonight for the first time in about three or four weeks and man, it was awesome. I got to see all my friends, go to small group, go to Cafe Recovery and spend time with my sponsor and get some hugs from her. I realized how much I need to be there and how much I need to be in a step study. I am afraid to join one right now because I don't know what I will be doing in three months or where I will be, but as soon as my living situation works itself out I want to join another one. I have some issues I need to work on and some more healing that needs to take place.
I hope and pray my mom will let me go to Celebrate Recovery in the coming weeks. I am going to talk to Becky and see if she will talk to my mom and kind of advocate for me. Becky thinks its good that I go to Celebrate Recovery and I really need it right now. My mom just doesn't understand. I think she is jealous of the friendships I have formed there. She thinks I am going to live with her when I phase out and that's just not so. I will live in Tulsa, I don't care if I have to live on a street corner. NO MORE LIVING WITH MOM!!!!!
If my mom lived in Tulsa it would be different. But living in Bristow where there's nothing to do and almost no job oppurtunities? Oh no....
