I'm not a forgiving man. Mercy, for all of its moral value, gets you killed. It's a luxury, or at times a practical tool. Opportunities to exercise it can be rare. When each day threatens the death of those close to you, you soon learn to recognize when forgiveness is a waste of your time.

You also learn to recognize when you can forgive, and when you should.

I'm sorry. There's no better way to say it. You meant to protect us. We all made mistakes when we acted as we thought best, and never anticipated the consequences. Georgina was the only one who could have foreseen what happened, and she refused to look, insisted that we're helpless to alter the intentions of Fate. Whatever Fate had in mind, I think we can come up with a few better ideas if you're free for a late night meeting over dinner.
