RIP Kancho

My ferret, Kancho, just died. The bottom door to her cage accidentally got left open from when they were all out earlier, and she got out again and met up with Dixie, who, to put it delicately, mugged her. There were no external wounds but from her ragged breath and unwillingness to move, I'd say her internal injuries were severe. I stood with her until the very last, then put her in a box and held her for about an hour afterward. When I was finally sure that she really was gone, I put two of her favorite ferret-treats in the box and put the lid on it. I wish I'd had some Sweet-Tarts to put in with her too, because she loved those best.

RIP, Kancho. You were the sweetest nose-kissing ferret I ever knew.
