Signups for Yuletide haven't even closed yet (hint hint) and I'm already beyond excited for it. Nothing gets me in the Christmas spirit quite like it; the whole thing just embodies all of the very best aspects of the holiday to me. There's something special about writing a story for someone you may have never met or even interacted with before, and learning to get to know them and care about them in the process, hoping that you're writing something that will make them smile on Christmas morning. It's a wonderful feeling.
Enough of my soppy Yuletide gushing. Time for a bookgasm. The UBS was very kind to me yesterday; I came home with half of their Pratchett books (because I already had the other half), The Hobbit graphic novel, Excel Saga vol. 1 and book 4 of The Mediator series. The Pratchetts that accompanied me home were Wintersmith, Sourcery, The Science of Discworld II & III and Pyramids. They told me that they had a lot more earlier this week, but that his stuff disappears fast. Well, naturally.
In other news, I am addicted to my new camera. Expect yet more fuzzy horse and donkey picspam soon.
And that is how the dinosaurs died.
