A belated Easter goodies post.
I must say, I had an absolute disaster in the kitchen this Easter. Everything I touched went wrong. So these are far bellow what I consider acceptable presentation-wise. But hey, they tasted yummy and it's what's on the inside that counts, right?
Easter Egg Cake Balls
It never occurred to me to photograph these to show off what I spent hours trying to accomplish. These cake balls are all Easter egg shaped with various chocolate piped decorations. But maybe you'll get a sense of that from the photos.
Here they are in their nests. Due to milk chocolate failure, nothing like what I planned.
The milk chocolate cake balls are covered in peppermint flavoured chocolate. It was insanely yum and I'm pretty sure I'll always use it from now on.
They made awesome little gifties.
Cup Cake Easter baskets
These were inspired by a virtual gift a friend of mine sent to someone on Facebook. The photo appeared on my news feed and I figured, "Hey, that looks pretty easy!" Well yeah, it is, until your sour straps sag. But that's another story!
2 of each on a cake board ready to be wrapped in cello for gifties.
Hot Cross Buns
And, of course, no Easter is complete without hot cross buns! These ones were chocolate with white and dark choc chips. I had to re-bake a batch after I forgot to warm the milk in my first batch. This batch was my third and I dare say it only gets easier.
