playing/losing gigs

well. we keep getting these gigs and losing them. we lost tully's after a little under a year, first and 110, which i know wasn't really my gig after only a couple of months, and then sisson, which i thought was going okay, after i don't know, 4 months or something.

Then i look and I see that bands like the Kings have been playing at storrowtown for 5 years. The guys that play at fat cat have been playing there since I could go to fat cat. so what's the deal? and i've made some observations. These guys behave professionally. I haven't been there in a while, but when I go to fat cat, I don't expect to hear banter from the guys playing. I hear music, pretty much non-stop, with MAYBE a little chatter, but not much. and they play songs well and they don't screw them up, and if they do screw them up then they don't make a big deal of it. They aren't so aloof.

I think that we need to be more like that. Kevin's always telling me how he's been in this buusiness a long time, and he knows how it is. But my observations are that he can get a gig, but he can't keep it. He shows up late, he doesn't set the tone of a professional musician, and he tries to be a rockstar. I don't think the bars that we have played at have ever taken us seriously.

I want to learn from the people that get gigs and keep them. I want to have a steady place to play music. I know it isn't MY music persay, but it's my voice and I want to use it regularly.
