Well, I make it through the first round! WHOO HOO!!
Here is my Icon:
The comments that I got on it (from people saying that it needed to be the one to go) were :
1)The image is grainy and the left part of the icon looks very empty. I have the feeling that the two circles in the top right corner (light texture?) don't belong there and the overall image could have been modified a little (like color, contrast etc.)
2)The picture looks very grainy. In addition, the light texture in the upper right looks very strange on her hair. Overall it seems the quality of the picture is much-reduced and that hurts the icon.
3)The icon seems really sharp, mainly the dragon. Colors also seem rather dull, and the contrast could be brought out.

What I've learned:
First, I was going for a grainy look and I succeeded (whoo hoo, go me), but it wasn't what was liked because it looked accidental?
Second, I was hoping that the lights in the upper corner would look kinda like the souls, but they looked more like an accident.
Last, I should probably up the difference in colors on the left hand side of the piece. I was going for subtle color on color, but it ended up looking slightly blah.
What do y'all think. Concrit really needed if I'm going to make it to the next round.
