So Katie and I have been in Taiwan for a few days now. Things have been really nice.
Hsiang picked us up from the airport Friday night. That night we didn't do a lot, Katie got to have some street food she'd been desiring, although I held off concerned for my stomach. It sucks so much!
Saturday we woke a little later, and Hsiang took us shopping around West Taipei. We saw a lot of cool shops, but most of that stuff was available in the US and Japan. It was really cool though. That night we went to have dim sum at 1 AM. It was so good! My stomach has been feeling mostly better, so I made sure to eat as much as I could. After that we went to Karaoke for a few hours. It was a really cool place, but I have to admit I was pretty annoyed by being up so late when I was sick listening to people sing to music I couldn't understand a word of (we were up until about 6-7 there.) It was easily the nicest Karaoke box style place. Despite all of that I had a second wind for some Liar's Dice for a while after that somehow.
Today I woke around 5 in the evening, and we went to Claire's parent's house for dinner. It was really awesome food! They had a bunch of dishes, and each was really awesome. Definitely the best food I've had since leaving the states, and probably for a while before that.
After that we went to the night market for a bit. Katie and I haven't had the chance to exchange our money yet, so we didn't get anything much. Tomorrow the banks will be open and we'll probably spend way too much of it next chance we get to go there.
